1982 - Library Staff: Mary Ann Grasso
1982
The Warner Research Collection, used primarily by people working in movies and television, had formerly been the art department research library of Warner Bros. Studios and had been donated to the city in 1975. According to a 1989 Los Angeles Times article, the collection contained more than 38,000 books, magazines and newspapers, and clip files of more than 2 million items. At that time, research was done for a fee of $50 an hour. The collection closed in 1999. In this photo, department supervisor Mary Ann Grasso looks through a file cabinet. The masks on the top of the cabinet were said to have been used by background actors during the making of a "Planet of the Apes" movie.
