Several women, likely library employees, demonstrate circulation procedures to Library Board President Harry White at the Buena Vista Branch Library’s July 1948 grand opening. City Librarian Elizabeth Ripley is third person from left. Fourth from the left is longtime library employee Peg Underwood. The Buena Vista library opened in July 1948 and served the community for over 50 years. A new Buena Vista library opened across the street at 300 N. Buena Vista St. in 2002.
