1947-1969: City Boards Member - LaVerne Still

Undated photo of LaVerne Still (1913-1991). He served on the Burbank Park Commission (1947-1951), the City Planning Board (1951-1959), and the Board of Building and Fire Code Appeals (1961-1969). According to a November 9, 1991, obituary in the Los Angeles Times, Still was born in Michigan in 1913 and his family moved to California when he was 4. He attended Burbank High School, graduating in 1931, and worked as an electrical contractor. Articles from April 4, 1945, and April 6, 1949, also indicate that Still made two unsuccessful runs for seats on the Burbank Board of Education. Notes on the rear of the photo: “0467.
