Fire Department
In 1950, the Fire Department was in a facility across Olive Avenue from City Hall. This vine-covered, two-story brick building was an early predecessor to the modern joint-use Police & Fire Headquarters facility which opened in 1998 at Orange Grove Avenue and Third Street.

- A baseball team made up of personnel from the Burbank Fire Department poses for a picture in front of a firetruck outside the department headquarters. Embroidered on the front of each uniform are the letters "B.F.D.". Although there are fourteen people in the photo, a list on the back of the photo provides only thirteen names: "Left to Right: G. - This image shows the fire department, personnel, and equipment in 1950. The city hall can be seen in the background. This image came from a collection of images donated by the Delores Palmer Estate. She was a BUSD employee for many years and authored the book "A History of Burbank."
