Description

Boys on bicycles gather at a gas station at the intersection of Olive Ave. and Verdugo Ave. Signs read "Cross Roads Service" and "Newhall Gasoline." Other signs advertise Quaker State, Conoco, and MacMillan motor oils. The 1946 Burbank City Directory gives the gas station operator as Rico Fontana. There are two-wheeled trailers for rent in the lot next to the gas station. The photo is dated April 1947.
