Burbank mayor George Battey Jr. stands before city hall with a visiting group from Ota, Japan. Ota, located 50 miles from Tokyo, became Burbank's fourth sister city in 1983 after an intense period of "wooing" by the Japanese city, according to the Los Angeles Times. Earlier sister cities included Solna in Sweden, Inchon in Korea, and Gabarone in Botswana. The photo is stamped with the date '94-2-14. Donated by Elaine Paonessa.
