Fire Department

In 1950, the Fire Department was in a facility across Olive Avenue from City Hall. This vine-covered, two-story brick building was an early predecessor to the modern joint-use Police & Fire Headquarters facility which opened in 1998 at Orange Grove Avenue and Third Street.

2007 - City Council Presentations
From City Council Meeting Minutes: Chief Tracy Pansini introduced Captain Glen Bell, who briefly described the partnership of the Police Department and the Children’s Burn Foundation. Ms. Keeley Quinn, Program Director, Children’s Burn Foundation, presented a donation in the amount of $14,000 to the Burbank Fire Department and commended the Fire Department for their commitment to the Burn Prevention and Fire Safety education program. Captain Bell presented Ms. Quinn with a plaque commemorating the partnership between the Children’s Burn Foundation and the Burbank Fire Department.
2007 - City Council Presentations
From City Council Meeting Minutes: Mayor Marsha Ramos and Fire Chief Tracy Pansini presented civilian commendations to three individuals who heroically assisted in the rescue of a senior citizen during a house fire on February 11, 2007. Chief’s Commendations were presented to Jamie Howe, Ryan Yonan, and Ryan Fegan.

La Tuna Fire. Image was taken on September 1, 2017. It burned 7,194 acres through the Verdugo Mountains and endangered homes in Burbank, Glendale and Sunland-Tujunga. It was the largest fire in the city of Los Angeles in 50 years; however with all the efforts only a handful of structures were burned and no fatalities.
