1996 - Opening of Elmwood Achievement Center
1996
In 1995-1996, the city bought and renovated 61 apartment units on Elmwood Avenue. This was part of the neighborhood rehabilitation program designed to help lower-income families get housing and reduce the crime rate in the area. Mayor Dave Golonski looks on as the kids get ready to cut the ceremonial ribbon at its grand opening.
