From notes on photo: “Public Works Yard. Early 1960s.” In 1954, Burbank voters approved a 10-year capital improvement program to help improve city infrastructure. One project was a flood control facility. In this image, the flood control channel can bee seen parallel to the Golden State Freeway. To the left of the channel, in the lower half of the picture, is the Public Works Department and between Olive Avenue and Magnolia Blvd. the Public Services Department and steam plant can be seen. The back of the photo is stamped "City Manager File."
