Negative envelope is marked "Luttge Bros Store - Orange Grove and San Fernando Rd." This image came from a collection of images donated by the Delores Palmer Estate. She was a BUSD employee for many years and authored the book "A History of Burbank."

1927 - Women's Club Building
In Fall of 1924, the clubhouse of the Woman's Club of Burbank was completed at 705 East Olive Avenue. This photo of it was taken in 1927. The club was organized in 1916 when the members of the Lavender Salad Club and the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Chamber of Commerce joined forces. This image came from a collection of images donated by the Delores Palmer Estate. She was a BUSD employee for many years and authored the book "A History of Burbank."

1930s - Moreland Truck Company Factory
Aerial view of the Moreland Truck Company Factory. In 1917 Watt L. Moreland was planning to move his business to Alhambra, California. When Burbank city officials heard about this news they offered Moreland 25 acres of land free of cost, located on the corner of San Fernando Blvd. and Alameda Ave. The city of Burbank raised $25,000 to pay for the land, buildings were constructed and the truck company moved in. The factory was still surrounded by acres of farms. Due to wartime shortages the plant had to close in 1940. The Moreland buildings were later used by the Vega Aircraft Corporation. This image came from a collection of images donated by the Delores Palmer Estate. She was a BUSD employee for many years and authored the book "A History of Burbank."

1939 - Glenn and Vera Taylor Wedding
Photo of Glenn Taylor and Vera Stutesman at their wedding at the Burbank Foursquare Church, November 17, 1939. The Taylors lived in North Hollywood prior to moving to Burbank in 1958. Glenn was active in the Burbank community, including leadership roles in the Burbank Noon Rotary Club, the Burbank YMCA, and the Foursquare Church. Glenn opened an independent insurance agency, Taylor Insurance, in Burbank in the 1960s.
